Argentina’s San Juan province prepares tender for five online gambling licences
San Juan province is drafting rules for a public tender of up to five online gambling licences, but no start date, fees or final conditions have been announced.

San Juan's Caja de Acción Social, led by Juan Pablo Medina, is preparing tender specifications for five online gambling licences. No launch date has been disclosed. The province currently has no authorised online operators.
The process follows Provincial Law 2724-P, unanimously approved on 12 December 2024 and published a week later. It permits CAS to award up to five licences via public tender, each for up to ten years with a possible five-year extension. Applicants must show technical, economic and financial capacity, have a legal address in San Juan, and meet tax, registration and anti-money-laundering requirements.
Operators would use the .bet.ar domain, with biometric checks and geolocation intended to block minors and users outside authorised jurisdictions. San Juan is also negotiating a regional self-exclusion agreement with Mendoza and San Luis; a draft exists but needs further meetings, and systems may take 60 to 90 days to connect. Licensing timetable, fees, monthly levies and final conditions remain undisclosed.
