Entain asks UK government to ‘carefully consider any further gambling tax increases’
Entain reported 2% third-quarter revenue growth and urged the UK government to weigh further gambling tax increases, warning they could threaten shops, jobs and livelihoods.

Entain reported third-quarter revenue up 2% for 1 July to 30 September 2026, saying its diversified global portfolio remained resilient. Online revenue rose 3%, helped by gaming growth that was partly offset by customer-friendly sports results and continued challenges in Brazil. UK and Ireland revenue climbed 14%, ahead of expectations, while New Zealand, Spain and Canada each posted double-digit growth. Australian online revenue rose 1%, in line with expectations, and Italy fell 6% as volume growth was offset by customer-friendly football results.
Brazil revenue dropped 36% in a difficult market before an immediate online gambling ban was announced on 25 September 2026. Chief executive Stella David said she was pleased with the quarter, citing execution and the company's scale. Entain reiterated its full-year 2026 guidance and expressed confidence in future cash generation.
David also urged the UK government to consider carefully any further gambling tax increases. She said online and retail operations contribute to tax revenue and local communities, and warned that additional taxes could threaten the viability of shops, jobs and livelihoods.
