Metropolitan Park, led by Hard Rock International and Steve Cohen, has announced a $10m investment in a new Jackson Heights community center, part of $33.8m in total public-private funding.

Metropolitan Park, the $8.1bn sports and entertainment district led by Hard Rock International and Steve Cohen, announced a $10m investment in a new Jackson Heights community center for the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens. The project's total public-private funding is $33.8m, with Metropolitan Park's contribution serving as seed funding.
The investment is part of Metropolitan Park's more than $1bn in community benefits. Public commitments include $10m from New York Governor Kathy Hochul, $9.3m secured by Council Member Shekar Krishnan and the New York City Council, $2m from U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, $1m from Congress Member Grace Meng, $1m in New York State funding secured by Assembly Member Jessica González-Rojas, and $250,000 each from Assembly Members Steven Raga and Catalina Cruz.
Hard Rock International's Sean Caffery said the company was proud to support the effort alongside elected officials, community leaders and the club, adding that the investment could transform lives for generations. Metropolitan Park's Michael Sullivan said the commitment extends beyond the district's boundaries and responds to needs in Jackson Heights, Corona and East Elmhurst.
