Matchbook acquires Betdaq uniting two of the longest-established names in exchange betting

Matchbook has completed its acquisition of Betdaq, with the Betdaq exchange trading until 21 October 2026 and customer withdrawals available until 4 November 2026.

Matchbook, the peer-to-peer betting exchange and market technology business, has completed its acquisition of Betdaq, bringing together two of the longest-running names in exchange betting.

Betdaq, founded by Dermot Desmond in 2000, will continue trading under operator EPS Ltd until 21 October 2026 to allow an orderly transition, with customer accounts open for withdrawals until 4 November 2026. Both operators said customer funds remain protected in line with their respective regulatory obligations, and Betdaq customers can find key dates and options at betdaq.com.

Matchbook chief executive Ronan McDonagh said the combination creates a single deeper pool that the company expects to deliver tighter spreads and larger fills for customers of both exchanges. Matchbook, which has run exchange markets for more than twenty years, has expanded through easyBet, its partnership with easyGroup, and ADI PredictStreet, its prediction market venture around the FIFA World Cup 2026. The company pointed to renewed global momentum for peer-to-peer pricing, particularly in the United States.
