Okada Manila sees mass gaming grow, but VIP hit hard by structural headwinds

Okada Manila's mass-market table revenue rose in the third quarter, but a VIP downturn contributed to a 47 per cent fall in nine-month EBITDA, according to owner Tiger Resorts.

Okada Manila reported mixed third-quarter gaming performance, with mass-market table revenue rising while VIP revenue fell. Owner Tiger Resorts said the Philippine casino's gross gaming revenue increased 0.9 per cent year on year in the quarter, but EBITDA dropped 47 per cent over the first nine months as VIP structural headwinds weighed on results.

Mass-market table games revenue grew 20 per cent to PHP3.01bn (US$47.8m), and mass table drop rose 5.4 per cent to US$143m. VIP table games revenue declined 21.4 per cent year on year to US$18m, while slot machine revenue fell 4 per cent to US$45.8m.

Separately, Okada Manila was named Best Hotel – Manila at the 35th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2026. Nobuki Sato, president and chief operating officer, said the recognition reflected the complete guest experience and credited team members. The awards are voted on by travel consultants, tour operators and destination management companies across Asia Pacific, without a preset nominee list.
