SkillOnNet advances to next stage of New Zealand online casino licensing process
SkillOnNet is among 11 operators cleared to apply for one of up to 15 New Zealand online casino licenses, with the next step a full regulatory assessment.

SkillOnNet has advanced to the next stage of New Zealand’s online casino licensing process after being among 11 operators allowed to apply, the company said. The Online Casino Gambling Act, in force since May 2026, permits up to 15 licenses. The auction drew 32 bidders, ran 10 rounds and set a final price of NZ$15m per license.
SkillOnNet will now submit a full application for regulatory assessment. The framework includes requirements on player protection, responsible gambling, age verification, advertising and operational transparency, intended to reduce harm and support a safe, accountable online gaming environment.
The company said it holds 16 gaming licenses across Europe and the Americas, including the UK, Germany, Sweden, Ontario and Alberta. It aims to establish its PlayOJO site as a leading New Zealand online casino. Maor Nutkevitch, head of corporate development, said the opportunity reflects SkillOnNet’s regulated-market experience and the potential it sees in New Zealand.
