The Press Association is buying RAS Technology to support the global racing and sports data betting industry

The Press Association has agreed to acquire Australia’s RAS Technology Holdings, expanding its racing and sports data business into the Australian wagering market.

The Press Association (PA) is acquiring Australia’s RAS Technology Holdings, combining their racing and sports data, technology and wagering services. PA’s Podium business supplies data, content and products to bookmakers, broadcasters and the wider industry. RAS, founded in 1999 and ASX-listed since 2021, brings wagering operator and racing body relationships across Australia and Asia, plus analytics, wagering technology and digital media capabilities.

The companies said the deal would give customers a broader product range, wider international coverage and faster development, with data integrity central. Podium’s sports API and RAS’s trading services and Wagering 360 platform are expected to provide a combined solution for media, bookmakers and rightsholders. Until completion, Podium and Racing and Sports will operate separately.

Completion is expected in February 2027, subject to customary conditions including Federal Court approval in Australia. RAS’s board unanimously recommended the scheme. Founders Gary Crispe and Robert Vilkaitis, who hold or control about 34% of issued shares, have each publicly stated they intend to vote in favour, subject to customary qualifications.
