Light & Wonder completes first-ever installation of RapidPlay at Crystal Bay Casino

Light & Wonder has deployed its RapidPlay cashless payments system at Crystal Bay Casino in Nevada, marking the product's first installation.

Light & Wonder has completed the first installation of its RapidPlay cashless payments solution at Crystal Bay Casino in Crystal Bay, Nevada. The company said RapidPlay is approved for use in Nevada and that it plans to expand into other jurisdictions, subject to regulatory approvals.

RapidPlay lets players access funds at a slot machine through a personal mobile device. Using secure open banking technology, players scan a QR code to transfer funds instantly without downloading an app or using a loyalty card. Light & Wonder says the system is intended to speed up payments and help operators modernise casino-floor transactions.

Muthu Palanichamy, senior vice president and general manager of global systems at Light & Wonder, described the debut as a milestone and said the company was collaborating with Crystal Bay Casino. Eric Roe, the casino's general manager, said the deployment reflected its focus on technology that adds convenience for guests.
