Altenar powers Wildz Group’s entry into Finland’s regulated betting market
Sportsbook provider Altenar is supporting Wildz Group’s launch into Finland’s newly regulated online gambling market after the Malta-based operator became the first to publicly confirm a Finnish licence.

Altenar is providing the sportsbook technology for Wildz Group’s entry into Finland’s newly regulated online gambling market. Wildz Group, a Malta-based iGaming operator, said it is the first operator to publicly announce that it has received an online gambling licence in Finland, allowing it to operate when the regulated market opens. The company expects the market to launch in July 2027.
Altenar and Wildz Group have worked together since 2024, with the supplier supporting the operator’s expansion beyond a casino-first model. Altenar said its regional expertise, Nordic trading specialists and localised content are supporting Wildz’s growth strategy. Wildz Group CEO Sam Brown said Altenar has been central to its global sports betting offering and that the supplier’s toolkit should help build a sports betting experience for Finnish players.
Dinos Stranomitis, COO at Altenar, said Finland’s shift to a competitive online gambling market is an important industry development. He said entering a new regulated market requires suitable technology, flexibility and understanding of local requirements. Finland opened licence applications on 1 March 2026 ahead of the planned market launch, as it replaces a state monopoly with a licensing model.
