NBA names Kalshi and Polymarket as preferred prediction market partners

The NBA has named Kalshi and Polymarket as preferred prediction market exchanges and signed an MOU with the CFTC, while expanding its DraftKings deal to cover prediction markets.

The NBA has designated Kalshi and Polymarket as its preferred prediction market exchanges, giving both platforms access to official league data through Sportradar, NBA intellectual property and marketing opportunities in the United States. The league also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission covering cooperation and information sharing on prediction markets.

The agreements include integrity protections for NBA-related prediction markets, including restrictions on permissible markets, prohibitions on league and team personnel trading NBA event contracts, and requirements to share information on investigations and suspicious trading. NBA executive Scott Kaufman-Ross said protecting the integrity of the game is the league's top priority and that constructive work with regulators and operators is important as the sector develops.

The NBA also expanded its existing DraftKings agreement to include prediction markets and nationwide promotional rights. The league said it expects to extend similar arrangements to other official sports betting partners and additional prediction market companies in the coming weeks. Kalshi's Adam Barrick called the partnership a significant milestone, while Polymarket's Ari Borod said it would help fans engage more deeply with basketball.
